THE GUESTHOUSE
Our guesthouse, "Mar y Monte", was opened in 1998 and is situated in the centre of Puntagorda, which is, in our opinion, the most beautiful part of the Island of La Palma.

Entrance to the house is by way of the patio, through palm trees, flowers and plants, with a refreshing fountain inviting us to pass some time there. A stairway leads us to the terrace roof from which we can enjoy the stunning views of both sea and mountain, an ideal site for sunbathing, dreaming or just to watch the stars at night.

Our guesthouse consists of five bedrooms, complete with comfortable beds, wash-basin and heating, along with two bathrooms and a kitchen in the patio for our guests. For breakfast there is a plentiful buffet awaiting you every morning.

LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS

Between the vastness of the Atlantic and the verdant slopes of the high mountains, at approximately 700 metres above sea level, lies the tranquil town of Puntagorda – an old and well-cultivated landscape of almond and fruit trees ideal for walks to discover its beauty.

We can also offer many recommendations in this respect: the best map at the moment is "Freytag+Berndt La Palma 1:30.000".

It is possible to go on excursions from “Mar y Monte” in all seasons of the year, through the varied natural beauty of the area and under a clear sky. Enjoy the marvellous views of the Atlantic and the mountain and discover the island in a spectacular manner: on foot, by bicycle, by bus (or, as we say here, "guagua"), or by car.

You can reach Puntagorda by bus daily (see www.transporteslapalma.comfor the timetable). If you wish we can reserve a hire car for you at a reasonable price and we will arrange for it to be there for you on your arrival.

Apart from the direct flights, Iberia airlines have flights to La Palma from Madrid. You can also fly to the Tenerife Sur airport and catch the ferry from Los Cristianos to La Palma.
